"The stars are coming in alignment for a picture-perfect soft landing. Moderating growth and inflation, and rising corporate profits will energize the stock market," according to Peter Morici, professor at the University of Maryland School of Business and former chief economist at the U.S. International Trade Commission. "Supported by robust holiday retails sales and stronger corporate profits, stock prices should rally through the end of the year."
Morici added that he didn't expect any change in the Federal Reserve's monetary policy before next year.
