Check Point Software schlägt Prognosen
Der Sicherheits-Softwarehersteller Check Point Software Technologies hat im dritten Quartal 2004 abzüglich von Belastungen aus Aquisitionen nach $66,8 Mio im vergleichbaren Vorjahreszeitraum einen Nettogewinn von $69,1 Mio erzielt. Der Gewinn je Aktie ist von 26 auf 27 Cents gestiegen. Die Erlöse sind um 22% auf $129,3 Mio geklettert. Die durchschnittlichen Analystenschätzungen bei Thomson First Call rechneten für das dritte Quartal mit 25 Cents je Aktie und Erlösen von $128,32 Mio.
Wal-Mart rechnet mit Erlösanstieg im Oktober
Wal-Mart hat seine Prognosen zum Filialumsatzbereich im Oktober bestätigt. Wie der weltgrößte Einzelhandelskonzern am Wochenende mitteilte, wird für jenen Zeitraum weiterhin ein Anstieg gegenüber dem Vormonat von 2-4 Prozent erwartet.
PalmOne - J.P. Morgan zeigt sich optimistisch
PalmOne wird von J.P. Morgan von "neutral" auf "overweight" heraufgestuft. Die Heraufstufung wird mit Anzeichen begründet, wonach das Modell Treo und der demnächst bevorstehende Start des Treo 650 zu tragender Bedeutung werden könnten. Für Europa wird erwartet, dass jene Modelle in die erste Reihe vordringen, so dass zu Jahresende weitere positive Impulse im Raume stünden.
Pfizer will positive Wirkung von Celebrex belegen
Laut dem "Wall Street Journal" steht beim Pharmakonzern Pfizer eine Ankündigung zu klinischen Versuchen für dessen Arthritis-Medikament Celebrex zur Verhinderung von Herzattacken und Schlaganfällen im Raum. Falls die Studien eine Zunahme von Herzproblemen im Zusammenhang mit Celebrex nach sich ziehen werde eine rasche Rückname erfolgen. Das Medikament sei auf dem Weg, einen Umsatz von $3 Mrd in diesem Jahr zu generieren, so die Zeitung.
