ROFIN-SINAR BROADENS MANAGEMENT TEAM

Plymouth, MI / Hamburg, Germany, December 16, 2005 - ROFIN-SINAR Technologies Inc.

laser beam sources and laser-based solutions, today announced that it has expanded its executive
management team with immediate effect.
Ingrid Mittelstädt has been appointed Chief Financial Officer. Ingrid has been with the company
since 1997 as Head of Corporate Controlling during which time she worked very closely with
Günther Braun, former CFO and current CEO and President of RSTI. Ingrid holds a Master’s
Degree in Economic Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires and is an Argentinean certified
public accountant.
Thomas Merk has taken over as Chief Operating Officer Rofin Micro Business and Lou Molnar will
be Chief Operating Officer Rofin Macro Business. Both have been with Rofin since 2000. Mr. Merk
holds a Master’s Degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Stuttgart,
Germany and Mr. Molnar holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Oakland University and a
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, with a Minor in Marketing, from Michigan State
University.

Die Experten von "EURO am Sonntag" raten die Aktie von Rofin-Sinar (ISIN US7750431022 / WKN 902757) zu kaufen.

Auf Grund einer starken Nachfrage aus Nordamerika habe der deutsch-amerikanische Laserhersteller Rofin-Sinar im zweiten Quartal des laufenden Geschäftsjahres zum 30. September Umsatz und Gewinn deutlich gesteigert. Der Erlös sei gegenüber der Vorjahreszeit um 5 Prozent auf fast 100 Mio. USD gestiegen, wobei der Konzerngewinn um 3 Mio. auf 11,7 Mio. USD zugelegt habe.

Der Auftragseingang habe ein Rekordvolumen von 115,5 Mio. USD erzielt. Die hohe Nachfrage betreffe in erster Linie das Geschäft mit Lasersystemen zur Bearbeitung von Kleinststeilen und für Laserbeschriftungen, während die Macro-Sparte mit ihren Hochleistungslasern für die Autoindustrie Rückgänge erzielt habe. Auf Grund dieser Entwicklung dürfte die Aktie weiter Nahrung für eine Fortsetzung ihres Aufwärtstrends haben.

Die Experten von "EURO am Sonntag" raten die Rofin-Sinar-Aktie zu kaufen. Das Kursziel sehe man bei 56 EUR.
